Once you have decided to volunteer for the project, first of all, select a suitable sub-project. The table below lists the currently active sub-projects which require volunteers, and the immediate requirements.

| The Free Bangla Fonts Project | Font Developers | The aim of this project is to release GPL'ed Bangla Open Type Fonts. |
| Archival of Bangla literary works on the Internet | Language enthusiasts | This is a Bangla version of Project Gutenberg, storing documents with expired copyrights on the Internet for all to download and read. |
| Ankur Bangla Live CD | Beta testers, developers, software engineers. | This is a Live CD project where a Bengali version of GNOME runs atop a GNU/Linux system running off a CD. (no hard disk installation required) |
Each and every sub-project has its own mailing list through which the development and coordination takes place. Go to the mailing list page at http://www.bengalinux.org/lists.php and subscribe to the mailing list dedicated to the project you are interested in. Once subcribed to the mailing list, post an announcement to that list (with a CC to <core@bengalinux.org>) announcing your plans.
